Sidra Ansari is currently editing her women’s fiction novel after the lovely people at The Novelry awarded her a bursary to study on The Big Edit Course.

Her non-fiction book for adults, ‘Finding Peace Through Prayer and Love’ was published by Beacon Books in January 2021 and won the Golden Door Bronze Award for Truth and Integrity of the Written Word.

During 2021, she wrote six brand new titles for Ladybird Education and hopes that she can continue in the same vain as she sees children’s educational books as a perfect marriage of both the teaching and writing world. Her sixth written work of 2021 is an audio collection of original stories on Eid is now out, and can be bought here! The next one is about Cities Around the World and will be out in 2023! 🎉

She writes children’s fictional books too, with a focus on love and positivity.

Sidra got her first taste of writing stories, as an adult, when she completed ‘Becoming a Writer’ after which she was shortlisted for the Asian Writer Short Story Prize and chosen for the Penguin Write Now Live Program for underrepresented writers in 2018. Sidra is also 1/7th of the excellent writer’s group, The Koyal Writers, too, which became one of her many secrets of success.

She is a qualified teacher and currently works as an online creative writing teacher, in between writing stories.

The setting for all her work is inspired by her love of the outdoors and the tendency to travel somewhere, anywhere, every year. Sidra currently lives in the West Midlands with her husband, five children, and cat, Sky.
